Anyone who knows me, knows that I watch almost equal amounts of CNN to Cartoon Network. I love cartoons. Yes… I am an adult. Really! I always have and always will. Currently my favorites from Cartoon Network are The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, Chowder, Froster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, and I even like the Ben 10 Alien Force.
Also, anyone who knows me, knows that I have a certain fondness for toys. I have an ever growing collection of designer vinyl figures. I’m a Kidrobot fan.
I love this campaign that Cartoon Network has had for a few months now. They are using Tristan Eaton’s Noods figures as a base. It really brings a great uniformity for the channel. They have so many different shows that its really great to see them all together. They create the Cartoon Network family.
It’s fun. I love the colors. Capacity is the motion design studio that has been working with Tristan’s figures. It’s great. Very current and clean. Great energy and I think it’s really impressive to bring so many different characters and animation styles together in one uniform way without damaging or misrepesenting the originals.
Now I just wish they would actually produce and sell these figures. I would love to add them to my collection.

I love finding really unique pieces of jewelry. I am a HUGE fan of necklaces. My ears are gauged so I can’t really wear earrings. Bracelets tend to get in the way of when I’m working or typing. Rings are wonderful but I just haven’t found too many great ones. But necklaces… I have quite the collection.
I found this “3d ghost ship” necklace while browsing through 80spurple.com. It was designed by Han Cholo(a pretty cool site!). I’m in love. It’s beautiful and I love that it has a little anchor too! Too bad this necklace $525.

I am in love with this ring. When I was in art school a girl I knew who was a jewelry major was making sliding rings… I was fascinated! The stone can slide back and forth with no fear of it falling out. It’s nifty. I love motion incorporated into jewelry. This silver moving stone ring is $198.
Also while browsing this site… I’m adding these jewelry piece on my “Oh man, if I had loads of money…” dream list.
Visit 80’s Purple. I have fallen in love with this site.

“Usability, folks. It’s not just for breakfast anymore.”
I found this article originally from swiss-miss.com. It is a great well-written and very fair critque and commentary of the new Tropicana branding and the agency behind it, the Arnell Group.
Read the article on Subtraction.com.
Hi. I want to see this.
I can’t say that I dislike George Lucas. At all. There are things that I haven’t really agreed with or liked but I have never thought that he ruined anything or took things too far.
The last Indiana Jones is an exception to all this… because that just went way too far. It was the monkeys. And the ants. –But I still enjoyed it because I love Indy. Temple of Doom was amazing! I have fond memories of watching Indiana Jones movies with my mom.
I love Star Wars. Like… love.
A week or two ago Star Wars Gallaxies… the Star Wars MMORPG… emailed me asking me to come back and reclaim my house and my character and whatever else I left when I stopped playing after the trial period or something. It was cute.
I love Darth Vader. Like… love… because I strongly associate with him. Hah!
Lucas has created so much for the world… the geeky world. We should be thankful because without him, what would we obsessed with? I think it’s really interesting to find that some people are really that pissed with him. Hello? He brought us the Jedi. He gave us the force. He has influenced entertainment, technology, how we think about the future, and the list goes on…
And need I have to add that he did Willow on top of everything else. That movie was great!
Karol showed me this. Thanks!
The commercial director and as photographer legend Howard Zieff died at the age of 81. He was most well-known for his Alka-Seltzer commercial (“Mama mia, that’s a spicy meatball!” ) and the Levy’s Jewish Rye ads (“You don’t have to be Jewish to love Levy’s real Jewish Rye”) staring common ordinary people rather than “beautiful” actors. Time magazine referred to him in 1967 as “the leading practitioner of what the trade calls the indirect sell.”
He had a unique sense of humor that made his ads stick out and more memorable. Zieff was one of the greats and helped to create the characters that we are so familiar with today such as the Marlboro cowboy. But he also broke stereotypes. Levy’s Jewish Rye ads are photographs of a Chinese man, a Black child, and a Native American all eating the rye bread.
“Everyone was blond and perfectly proportioned; I didn’t want that. Look, for the Levy’s ad. I shot many photos that failed. They weren’t the kinds of faces that gathered you up when you went on the subway. That’s what I wanted, faces that gathered you up.” –Zieff, 2002
Over the summer I saw his work at the New York Public Library’s Business and Science Center when they had a special exhibit about the history of advertising on Madison Ave. He was brilliant.

The store is actually called The Emporio Store and it is located in New Delhi, India. Entirely made from scissors is store is the creation of Rajesh Pratap Singh. Everything is made form scissors. EVERYTHING. The walls, doors, windows, hangers and SCULPTURES are made from scissors. There are several scissor art sculptures currently living in this store that will soon be for sale in L.A. Dangerous but beautiful art pieces.
This store is not just a store but a work of art and design.

I cannot believe this man.
He actually exists. His biography is real.
Jason Randal knows more and can do more and has done more than ten people put together. He has a PhD and works in three different languages. He is part of MENSA. He is a 7th degree black belt. He is a licensed general contractor who designed and built his house. He is a scuba instructor and a flight instructor.
I’m in awe that one human being can have accomplished so much. Seriously.

This is a street view fail. Looks like there might be a shootout… or a child shot… in broad daylight.
Great picture…

2/27/09 – Thanks to Steve for sending me this other Googlemaps mess up. Google kills a Deer. While trying to map the world, at least by road they ran into a little problem.
On Saturday night I went to the Digital Rituals show at JUNGLE in Bushwick, Brooklyn with Karol and Marissa. Very cool space. Pretty cool exhibits. Lots of video installations. It was nice to see people from Pratt again.
My favorite was the Baby Clone Arcade game.
For 2 bucks, I got myself a rubber baby clone that came with it’s own unique birth certificate. The babies were an artist edition of 1000. Each baby is supposed to be a clone of a celebrity. I got one of David Beckham. Marissa got one of Steve Jobs.
The only issue I had with the show was the lack of titles or descriptions for each piece. It left a lot of people, myself included, with some probably unnecessary questions.
Digital Rituals was produced by Republic Brooklyn.

Solveig is a 10 year old girl in the UK. She is being referred as the female Banksy right now. She loves to paint and has got a lot of style, especially for someone so young. She’s been painting for a few years already! This girl is impressive! Someone liked her work so much that he asked her for a tattoo. She actually tattooed the guy herself. 10 years old and and she already has made some permanent marks on her world. Solveig has big dreams. She’s already painted on the Berlin wall.
I totally dig this little girl. Check out her flickr.

The Smith and 9th Street station on the F/G subway line is one of my favorites. I love the giant outdoor signs around this area of Brooklyn.
This is really neat.
It reminds me of an exhibit at the Met, I don’t remember what the name or artist is. The exhibit is a room filled with different speakers lining the room. It is of a choir singing. Each speaker is an individual’s voice in the choir. Very impressive. I’m upset that I don’t remember what the name of it is and google doesn’t seem to have any clue of what I’m talking about.
Anyways! i like this commercial a lot.

Orange juice is a pretty big part of my life. It is the nectar of the gods.
Have you noticed this? It looks really neat! Doesn’t make it any easier to open the container though. It just looks nifty. The graphics on the actual container are not very impressive. They really had something going with the orange and the straw.

Somehow, I was the first person on. At least in this car.

The Clinton’s White House cat died.
He was 18.
Socks was a stray cat that was rescued by Chelsea Clinton. He didn’t stay with the Clintons after they left the White house. He stayed with President Clinton’s personal secretary. He had cancer but he still lived quite a long time. He was put to sleep today.
When I was in elementary school, I wrote about Socks when I wrote President Clinton a letter about how I thought that all cars should be made like bumper cars because people wouldn’t get into accidents as much. He was a cool cat.

Got burritos with Carrie the other day. This place, had some really cool pictures and posters. I apologize for the glare.
I introduced her to Twitter.(Check her out.) She asked me if I Tweet about every little thing in my life. Like “OMG. I am totally having lunch with Carrie right now!” I laughed. Later that day, I did tweet about having lunch with her just for fun. Hah!

Wouldn’t you think that if you had to give a 200-pound “domesticated” chimp some psychiatric drugs like Xanax that you would think that the chimp was unhappy with his life?
The news about this poor chimp is a shame. It could have been easily avoided. I feel terrible for the animal and I do feel somewhat for his owner. She lost a friend. But she should have been thinking about his happiness and well being.
Please do not take wild animals and make them pets. Chimps are not house cats or dogs. Wild animals need to be in the wild.
