About

Hello, and pleased to meet you!
My name is Samantha Evelyn Smith. I wouldn’t be surprised if you knew of another Samantha Smith. There seems to be a lot of us in the world. It’s quite the name! I am a young designer and photographer living in New Jersey and working in the city.
Some extra details…
(I watched the cursor blink at least a thousand times before I thought of something to write about myself.)

I am fond of cats, lowercase letters, and vanilla cupcakes. I drive a little purple car. My cat is 18 years old.  There is a 72 gallon freshwater fish tank in my bedroom. Hopefully, one day I’ll see Iceland, Fiji, Spain, and Brazil. I own 21 cameras and I wish Polaroid would start making the 600 instant film again. I am pretty afraid of dogs for the most part.

I was born on the opposite side of the world from where I currently reside. Raised in the suburbs, I went to school in the city. I dream about living in Brooklyn again. But I still dream about living where my life began and really finding my roots. I love to fly and usually love airline food. I love my glasses and seriously doubt I will ever get contacts or corrective surgery.

Never have I liked chocolate. At all. Ever. Usually, I don’t like ice in my drinks. If I have an extra dollar in my pocket, I’ll probably buy a scratch off lottery ticket. I have lots of collections. Maybe, I’m a collector of collections. I like driving in NYC. Sometimes on the subway or train, I like to crochet or knit. I have a hard time saying “no” to cupcakes or pasta.

I was a design student with a heavy interest in photography which leads me to where I am now; trying to find my place in art and design. Right now, I’m working for a magazine as their web assistant and as a photographer’s assistant in NYC. I spend hours on trains. I never leave home without a camera.
